DreamHill Online High School Admission Policy

Introduction

DreamHill Online High School (DHIS) offers the IEB curriculum, which upholds high national standards to equip students for future academic challenges and success. Our primary medium of instruction is English, with the exception of first additional languages (Afrikaans and IsiZulu) and Second Language French.

1. Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission to DHIS, students must meet the following criteria:

- The applicant must demonstrate the ability to benefit from the educational services provided.

- The school must have the capacity to meet the educational needs of the applicant.

- Availability of space at the specific grade level for which the student is eligible.

We are committed to accommodating all qualified applicants and providing the necessary facilities for expected enrolment. Admission priority is as follows:

A. Students enrolled at the end of the previous school year who have met financial policies and expressed their intent to return before October 1.

B. Dependent children of Founding Members of the School and faculty.

C. Dependent children of foreign nationals.

D. Other applicants based on the completion date of their application, with priority given to English-speaking applicants.

E. Siblings of students already enrolled in the school within each category.

2. Application Procedure:

Parents are required to complete and submit the following materials and records for the application process:

- DHIS Registration Form

- Previous school records (if in a language other than English/Afrikaans, accompanied by an English translation).

- Up-to-date medical information (using the DHIS Medical form).

- Copy of identity/passport documents for both parents.

- Two passport-sized photos of parents and the child.

- Results of standardized assessments if available.

- Registration Fee

No application will be considered until all required information is provided, and the registration fee is paid. The Registrar adheres to DHIS Conditions of Admittance policies and procedures, ensuring that all application forms are complete, the registration fee is paid, and required documentation is received.

Student placement is determined by previous report cards, and assessments may be conducted as needed. Please note that students who are not native English speakers or cannot communicate effectively in English may not be placed at DHIS, as the school does not offer an ESL program.
